GDS NEWS ------------------ What a great weekend we had celebrating Gaby's Dance Studio Club's 9th Birthday. The Friday night "Meet and Greet" Dance party was full to capacity, with great music and social dancing. Thanks to the Dance Vibe and GDS organisers! Everyone had a great time and the first 25 people through the door won prizes from McDonalds. We met lots of new people, caught up with some old friends and partied on until the club kicked us out sometime after midnight. Thanks to everyone's support we raised over $300 for The Canberra Special Children Christmas Party The dancing continued the next day with a fun and relaxed competition. Everyone had a go and a few arms got twisted to go in events they didn't expect to, like "Dance with a Stranger" and "Battle of the Sexes." There was a friendly feel to the day which encouraged everyone to just have fun. (See bottom of email for results). After a quick break the Ball started with some great Cabarets and Team Events. If you missed them then make sure you get your hands on a DVD to check out some of the amazing dances. The meal was great this year, with course after course of delicious food, finished of with cake! Over one hundred lucky door prizes were given away. Some of the prizes people won included Wine, GPS Navigators, DVD Players, and Digital cameras! The Bar fridge went to a Canberra winner, while the BBQ went down to Melbourne and the 42" Plasma High Definition TV went to a lucky winner from Sydney! Thanks goes to the sponsors for the great prizes and for helping make the weekend what it was. The GDS team would also like to thank all those who helped organise and run the events. And finally a big thank you goes out to all those dancers who came and had a good time! So after an amazing weekend and nearly setting fire to the beautiful cake we are very happy to have celebrated the birthday of the Gaby's Dance Studio Club and look forward to seeing you all next year (17th July 2010) for the big 10th birthday celebration !
